Professional performance
Professional performance can be defined as the quality of clinical practice in the workplace. Performance is a complex construct and is dependent on context. It is difficult to assess objectively because it is underpinned by a range of knowledge, skills, attitudes, judgements, beliefs and values.

The Professional Standards Unit receives recommendations emerging from reviews of professional performance from the Professional Performance Panel and provide administrative support to the Panel. The Colleges’ Professional Performance Panel deals with problem cases in all disciplines of pathology.

Review of the categorisation of discrepancies in histopathology
