The Education Centre will cost £3.5 million. The Royal College of Pathologists has committed £500,000 and seeks to raise the rest from organisations and individuals with a passion to promote pathology and increase public engagement with medicine.

The Education Centre will provide:

• a lecture theatre
• an exhibition/activity room
• three breakout rooms
• audio-visual facilities
• webcasting facilities and a web archive.

An interactive pathology exhibition

A regularly updated exhibition for patients, public and children will explore pathology and timely issues such as MMR, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, MRSA and avian flu.

This area will also accommodate events, especially for patients and niche audiences.
