Transfusion Medicine Trainee Representative

What does the role entail?

The Transfusion Medicine Specialty Advisory Committee (SAC) exists to advise Council on matters concerning blood transfusion in the UK. The trainee representative is responsible for gathering information and feedback from clinical and scientific trainees in blood transfusion, across the UK, and presenting their views to the committee at its biannual meetings. The trainee representative also provides a trainees’ perspective on issues concerning service development and workforce planning.

What’s the commitment?

• Attendance at two full day meetings of the Trainees’ Advisory Committee per year
• Attendance at two half day meetings of the Transfusion Medicine SAC per year
• Submission of a short written report to each meeting.
