College members have been recognised for their vital work throughout the pandemic in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
The Honours are awarded to recognise the outstanding achievements of people across the United Kingdom.
College members were awarded the following honours:
- Commander of the Order of the British Empire - Dr Jonathan Paul Sheffield OBE. Lately Chief Executive Officer, Clinical Research Network, National Institute for Health Research. For services to medical research particularly during the Covid-19 Response.
- Professor Marie Ann Scully. Consultant Haematologist, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to Blood Disorders.
- Professor Anthony Walter Rowbottom. Professor and Clinical Director for Pathology, Lancashire and South Cumbria Pathology Network, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals as been awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to Pathology during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Dr Mike Osborn, President, The Royal College of Pathologists said:
