The Furness Prize winner for Science Communication 2015 is Dr Elaine Cloutman-Green, an Infection Prevention and Control Practitioner at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

Dr Cloutman-Green has been involved in science communication since 2007, through outreach work for GOSH and as a STEM Ambassador. She has represented GOSH at various events including the careers events, workshops for local schools and on BBC (Blue Peter) and the Discovery Channel. She has inspired audiences to engage with microbiology through projects for the Wellcome Trust and organising a series of talks on healthcare science.

Dr Cloutman-Green will be awarded the Furness Prize at the New Fellows Ceremony in March.
