Our CQI mentoring scheme

Mentoring is a powerful tool for professional and personal development. The Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Mentoring Scheme will provide support to members who are seeking to develop or improve their quality improvement skills in order to complete a quality improvement activity in their workplace.

What is the CQI mentoring scheme?

The scheme holds a list of established self-nominated mentors with the aim of providing a partnering service. A mentor guides their mentee to achieve their aims by sharing their experience, expertise and encouragement. Mentees are supported to achieve their goals and improve their skills and knowledge while being challenged and encouraged by the mentor.

What will I gain from the scheme?

The Royal College of Pathologists believes that mentoring, through expert support and role-modelling, will help build new skills, develop new leaders in CQI and improve the quality of pathology practice.

Both mentor and mentee will benefit from sharing contacts and networking opportunities, increasing their skills and visibility and gaining an opportunity to reflect on how quality improvement relates to their own practice and workplace.
