Nominations are now invited for the Chair of the Joint Medical Microbiology & Medical Virology Specialty Advisory Committee, taking up office until the Annual General Meeting, November 2025. You must be a Fellow of the College to be eligible.

What does the role entail?
The Specialty Advisory Committee (SAC) on Medical Microbiology & Medical Virology exists to advise Council on matters concerning microbiology and virology practice in the UK. Further details about the role can be found in the role description below.
What is the commitment?
- Attendance at three SAC meetings per year
- Co-ordination of matters relating to SAC activities, including drafting reports
- Reporting to College Council as requested
- Term of office: 3 years
