Digital Histopathology Committee Member roles
Why should I apply?
The Royal College of Pathologists is committed to setting and maintaining professional standards and promoting excellence in the teaching and practice of pathology, for the benefit of patients. Those holding office in the College contribute to this important work by providing professional leadership and contributing at a national level to the maintenance and development of pathology services and the quality of patient care.
We would like to hear from UK-based consultant histopathologists who are interested in joining the College's Digital Histopathology Committee. This newly-established committee will advise Council and the Digital Strategy Board on matters concerning digital histopathology across the UK.
We welcome applicants whose date of first consultant appointment was less than five years ago.
What does the role entail?
The Digital Histopathology Committee exists to advise the College on a wide range of digital histopathology matters in the UK. We are looking to appoint 5-9 committee members with expertise and experience in digital histopathology to the committee.

What is the commitment?
- Attendance at two committee meetings per year.
- Support Committee activities by providing an update on matters relevant to digital histopathology in your specialty, and other tasks as agreed by the Committee.
- In between formal meetings, much of the committee work is dealt with electronically. Representatives are expected to respond to electronic requests.
- Term of office: 3 years from the date of approval by College Council.
How do I apply?

Any College Fellow in histopathology who is actively involved in digital histopathology is eligible to apply. Applicants must be based in the UK.
- If you meet the criteria and wish to apply, you must complete the nomination form by 5pm on Tuesday 4 August 2026.
