Free to use, the new and unique Pathology Portal includes a range of online and interactive educational resources.

"The Royal College of Pathologists, in partnership with the Health Education England Technology Enhanced Learning team and colleagues in other professional bodies, developed this innovative resource to deliver high quality training materials that can be customised to individual needs, covering flexible and return-to-work training, and testing of learning. The Pathology Portal allows equitable access to a range of modules, including whole slide image-based training, ensuring consistency across the country and supporting capability and competence-driven approaches."

The aim of the Pathology Portal is to provide and invaluable resources to support training and ongoing professional development.

Over 1,500 modules and resources

The Pathology Portal currently features over 1,500 modules, including cases, video and audio teaching, quizzes, documents, weblinks and more.

The initial sets of modules cover cytology, autopsy pathology, neuropathology and histopathology, including subspecialist training material that is not widely available.

The next phase of the Pathology Portal involves expanding the content for all pathology specialties. This project is underway.

How to access the Pathology Portal

The Portal is part of the HEE TEL's Learning Hub. People with an NHS or university email address can register on the Learning Hub or login with their elearning for healthcare (elfh) Hub details, where you can request Portal access. This access is directly available across all UK nations, and College members with other email addresses will also be granted access. Please contact [email protected] for further guidance.

The Learning Hub is HEE TEL’s newest digital platform and provides easy access to a wide range of education and training resources for the health and care workforce. Organisations and users can contribute and share resources for those in health and care to access.
