26 June 2019

Running from 24-26th June 2019, Evidence Week brings together MPs, peers, parliamentary services and people from communities across the UK to talk about why evidence matters.

College President, Professor Jo Martin, was delighted to attend the launch event of Evidence Week in Parliament, organised by Sense about Science and hosted by Norman Lamb MP, Chair of the Science and Technology Committee. This event looked at the opportunity for close collaboration between researchers and parliamentarians and the importance of evidence-based policy making. Community organisations released the first look at research into the evidence issues MPs are handling and how they vary across the UK.

Evidence Week in Parliament is hosted by Sense about Science, in collaboration with the House of Commons Library, House of Commons Science and Technology Committee, the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology, London School of Economics and SAGE publishing. Evidence Week brings together MPs, peers, parliamentary services and people from all walks of life across the UK to talk about why evidence matters.

Professor Jo Martin said:

I was pleased to be with a packed house at the launch of Evidence Week. It’s so important to get the evidence right, accurate and correctly communicated.
