His Majesty the King will follow The late Queen in this role. The late Queen was our Patron from 1970, when the College received its Royal Charter, until her sad death in 2022.
The announcement follows a review of over a 1,000 Patronages of The late Queen, The former Prince of Wales and The former Duchess of Cornwall.
Dr Bernie Croal, President of the Royal College of Pathologists said:
"We are honoured and delighted to welcome His Majesty The King as our patron. We very much look forward to working with him and highlighting the expertise of our members who are central to every aspect of healthcare.
They play a critical role in research, advancing medicine and devising new treatments to fight viruses, infections and diseases like cancer."
