The College President informed College Council today about the outcome of an investigation into allegations of misconduct.
In October 2019 the College received allegations of misconduct relating to Professor Peter Furness. Following an independent investigation and a hearing by an independently chaired disciplinary panel, the allegations have been upheld.
The panel decided that Professor Furness be debarred from holding office in the College until 1 February 2023. Professor Furness has indicated that he does not intend to appeal the decision of the panel.
The sanction imposed by the panel has now taken effect.
An announcement regarding the timetable for the Presidential election and election of Vice Presidents will be made shortly.
