The Scotland Regional Council had its first meeting of 2018 chaired for the first time by Professor Peter Johnston in April at Edinburgh’s Western General Hospital. The Council discussed numerous topics relating to pathology in Scotland with the highlights being; the work of pathology networks in Scotland (SPAN, SCBMDN and SMVN), phase II of the Demand Optimisation programme, workforce and recruitment issues and Scotland Symposium planning.
