Vote by European Parliament on data protection welcomed by Chair of RCPath Research Committee

Following the vote on the new European Data Protection Regulation, which includes proportionate safeguards on how personal data is used in health research, Prof Ian Cree, Chair of The Royal College of Pathologists’ Research Committee said:

‘This is best outcome and the one the research community hoped for. It strikes just the right balance between safeguarding personal data and allowing vital health research to continue.’
