Did you know that one of the easiest ways to get CPD credits is by self-accreditation?

What is self-accreditation?

Self-accreditation is claiming CPD credits for activities that are not listed in our guidelines or otherwise approved or certified by the RCPath or other accrediting body. It may be claimed if educational benefit is gained. You can claim up to 1 credit per hour (maximum of 50 credits per year).

Documentation can be uploaded to the online CPD portfolio or retained. This should be accompanied by relevant supporting information or a weblink to a website where it may be viewed. Supporting information should demonstrate your participation or engagement in the activity for which CPD credits are being claimed. Where CPD credits are claimed for activities that are not accredited by the RCPath but were educationally useful to you, similar evidence must be provided and should be accompanied by a reflection on learning.

Suggested supporting information:

  • Attendance records, certificates
  • Personal notes
  • Emails confirming/thanking you for work done
  • Screenshots from mobile phones and other smart devices
