TOPICS COVERED
The 48th Annual ACBI Conference will provide a two-day programme of continuing professional education for those working in clinical biochemistry and related disciplines. Delegates will hear from invited speakers and colleagues presenting selected abstracts, with opportunities to view posters and engage with current developments in laboratory medicine.
The programme will explore the contribution of clinical biochemistry to chronic disease management and routine patient care, including the use of laboratory data and point-of-care testing. It will also consider the application and governance of artificial intelligence, analytical performance and the assessment of assay suitability. Sessions on patient access to results, direct-to-consumer testing and the wellbeing of the laboratory workforce will address wider changes affecting the profession and its services.
The conference is intended to support learning, reflection and discussion by connecting scientific and clinical perspectives with practical laboratory experience. It will also provide opportunities for delegates to share work, exchange ideas and build professional links across the clinical biochemistry community.
