This meeting is relevant to all those involved in the delivery of pathology training – including trainers, assessors and senior resident doctors preparing to become consultants.    

Aims and objectives   

The main aim of this annual remotely-held Zoom meeting is to provide an ‘Educational Update’ on training and assessment and examinations. 

This year’s theme is focussed on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The keynote speaker is Dr Mark Ragoo MBA PGDip Health Informatics FRCEM FHEA.  Dr Ragoo is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine with a longstanding interest in clinical informatics, digital transformation and the practical use of artificial intelligence in healthcare.  Dr Ragoo’s talk will focus on Using AI in Pathology Training and Examinations.

The webinar will include:

• Practical help for trainers on how to use AI tools to help with training
• How to use AI in examinations and assessments. How it can help generate questions for examinations or help with the examination itself
• AI as an educational tool to help teach pathology concepts faster, and how to prepare trainees to become consultants in the world of AI.  This includes how AI may change the way consultants practice.
