After attending this session covering 'Aspects of decontamination' delegates will be able to:
- Explain the basics of decontamination
- Describe the healthcare environment and the value of whole room disinfection
- Discuss decontamination of flexible endoscopes and intracavity probes and the impact of CJD guidance
- Outline the roles and responsibilities involved in hospital-wide management of decontamination
- Explain how to approach decontamination failures and to manage incidents
- Describe the IPC aspects of healthcare laundry.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The IPC Training Days programme provides education for trainees and other healthcare professionals working in the field of medical microbiology, medical virology, infectious diseases, and other areas of infection control.
