Join us at the Otley Science Festival to see if you have what it takes to become a pathologist.
Ever wondered what a pathologist does? Come along to our Pathology Corner and have a go yourself!
Put on a mini lab coat, grab a magnifying glass and see if you have what it takes to spot clues hidden inside real pathology images. Our special pathology-themed "Where's Wally?" challenge uses colourful microscope pictures from the laboratory with hidden images for young visitors to find. If you manage to find them all, there'll be a prize waiting for you.
For curious grown-ups, we'll also have annotated versions of the images so you can discover what these fascinating pictures are actually showing and learn a little more about how pathologists help diagnose disease.
We'll also have a fun photo area with laboratory-themed props and special photo frames, giving budding scientists the perfect opportunity to capture their day at the Science Fair.
We also have an exciting new escape room-style challenge inspired by pathology, bowel cancer research and the amazing microbes that live in our gut. Work your way through a series of puzzles and clues, solving challenges as you go. Each correct answer will bring you one step closer to the final challenge: unlocking the toilet and discovering the famous Golden Poo Trophy hidden inside! Successful investigators will earn a medal and, more importantly, the satisfaction of knowing they have conquered one of the strangest scientific challenges in Yorkshire.
