The objective of the RCPath Forum: Rapid Genomic Testing for Cancer Patients is to formulate a position statement regarding the RCPath’s views about how UK diagnostic pathology and genomic laboratory services could be best configured to ensure equitable, high-quality, cost-effective access to rapid testing for patients with cancer.
The meeting will bring together key stakeholders across pathology, oncology, genomics, patient advocacy, NHSE and industry for an innovative consensus-building event. Our aim is to develop clear recommendations on what a more patient-centric and integrated molecular and genomic testing service, which fully engages NHS pathologists and clinical scientists, would look like. We aim to use the outputs of this event to inform the Dept of Health and Social Care and others involved in the UK National Cancer Plan.
