ISDP2026 is the in-person 2026 Symposium of the International Society of Dermatopathology. It’s a three-day professional meeting for dermatopathologists, dermatologists and related specialists from around the world to present research, attend educational sessions and network. The programme includes lectures, oral abstracts, poster sessions and expert updates across a wide range of dermatopathology topics, plus social events and opportunities for professional exchange. Organised by the British Society for Dermatopathology and the International Society for Dermatopathology, registration is open now.

TOPICS COVERED

  • The meeting opens with welcome remarks followed by scientific updates on soft tissue tumours, then the ‘Honouring Legacy’ memorial lecture. Morning sessions cover lymphoid dermatopathology with breaks for coffee, exhibitions, and poster viewing. After lunch, speakers present on inflammatory dermatopathology and paediatric dermatopathology. The afternoon continues with education and external quality assessment (EQA) in dermatopathology.
  • Day two starts with oral abstract presentations showcasing new research, followed by an update on molecular pathology of melanocytic lesions. A mid-morning coffee with exhibition and posters precedes a forward-looking session on digital pathology and artificial intelligence. After lunch and further poster viewing, talks focus on adnexal tumour pathology and periocular dermatopathology. The AB Ackerman Lecture explores the Gordon Museum’s evolution. Afternoon highlights include Legends in Dermatopathology, a session on hair and nail (hard keratin) pathology, and a large slide seminar (20 cases). Discussions on genital dermatopathology and the ISDP General Assembly follow. The day concludes with a symposium dinner at the Dorchester Library, Royal College of Physicians.
  • The final day begins again with oral abstracts and a session on squamous cell carcinoma and related neoplasms. After coffee, experts address quality assurance, cancer datasets, and synoptic reporting. The Founders Medal lecture is delivered (topic to be announced). Post-lunch sessions include pitfalls in dermatopathology, infectious dermatopathology, and two slide seminar sessions (10 cases each). A Multicontinental Match brings interactive engagement before closing remarks. Optional visit to the Gordon Museum is offered as an informal finale of the scientific meeting.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

ISDP2026 is ideal for dermatopathology professionals and related specialists — including dermatopathologists, dermatologists, pathologists and trainees who want state-of-the-art updates across all aspects of skin pathology. The three-day programme features scientific lectures, oral and poster presentations, slide seminars, digital pathology and molecular sessions, and opportunities for networking and professional exchange with international peers. It’s also well-suited to researchers and educators in dermatopathology and clinicians with a strong interest in microscopic skin disease diagnosis. Around 200–300 specialists globally are expected to attend.
