Trainee Representative, Scotland Regional Council
Nominations are now invited for a new Trainee Representative (medical) on the Scotland Regional Council, taking up office for three years or until you CCT. You must be a pre-FRCPath Medic at ST3 trainee grade level or above to be eligible. There is currently 1 post.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic trainee in any Pathology discipline in Scotland to represent trainee pathologists on the Royal College of Pathologists Scotland Regional Council in the capacity of a Trainee Representative.
What does the role entail?
Trainee Representatives will serve for a period of three years or until CCT is attained, and are expected to attend three Regional Council meetings per year, and three meetings of the Scottish Academy Trainee Doctors' Group (SATDG) per year.
Trainee Representatives are an important element of the Regional Council as they are able to contribute to discussions and provide balance and valuable insight. The Trainee Representative is expected to represent trainees in all Pathology disciplines, not just their own disciplines

Becoming a Trainee Representative on Regional Council will give applicants good awareness of national and regional issues within pathology.
What is the commitment?
Trainee Representatives will serve for a period of three years or until CCT is attained, and are expected to attend three Regional Council meetings per year, and three meetings of the Scottish Academy Trainee Doctors' Group (SATDG) per year. These meetings may be attended in person or remotely. They also liaise closely with the Trainee Advisory Committee of the Royal College of Pathologists and provide brief written reports to this committee in advance of their meetings. Attendance in person at Trainee Advisory Committee Meetings is optional.
