Our annual report 2018–2019 showcases the important projects and initiatives the College has supported over the past year.

We are delighted to launch the 2018–2019 annual report.

This report is an opportunity to reflect on the achievements and key successes of the College and our members over the past year.

Every day our members help to improve the care patients receive through research, training, education and their day-to-day activities. The College recognises this wonderful contribution through its annual awards, which you can read about in this annual report.

The patient case studies highlight the difference pathologists make to the lives of patients, whether it is diagnosing rare diseases or using their expertise to provide bereaved families with answers.

We have case studies from a range of specialties, including haematology, microbiology, neuropathology, cellular pathology and veterinary pathology. It is fascinating to hear both sides of the stories – from the patient’s view and the pathologist caring for them.

We have made considerable progress over the past year in our four strategic objectives and some of our activities in these areas are highlighted in the report. These include:

  • developing new curricula
  • running training events
  • advocating for improved services and sustainable workforce
  • engaging with the public at a range of events across the UK
  • partnering on important international projects
  • improving our digital services to members.

The report provides a fantastic summary of the College’s activities but there has been so much more. This work will continue across 2019–2020 and you can read more about this in the report.
