The Pliosaurus! Exhibition at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery is now open until January 2018.

The exhibition is partly funded by The Royal College of Pathologist’s Public Engagement Innovation Grant Scheme.

Pliosaurus! shows the sheer breadth of pathology, spanning into something Isla Gladstone, the Senior Curator, referred to as 'paleopathology'.

Part of the project involved asking Dr Geoffrey Pearson, a veterinary pathologist, to examine their large pliosaurus skeleton. It transpires that the 150 million year old fossil had many similarities to animals that Geoffrey sees today in veterinary pathology.

This short video gives a brief outline of the exhibition, and how it engaged children and members of the public in discovering what pathology is.
