Curious about a career in science and healthcare? Find out where biomedical science could take you.

Every day, biomedical scientists work behind the scenes in healthcare laboratories, analysing blood, tissue and other patient samples to help diagnose disease, monitor treatment and inform patient care.

Join the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) during National Pathology Week for an interactive webinar exploring what biomedical scientists do, where they work and how you can become one.

What will you discover?
We’ll follow a patient sample on its journey through the laboratory and introduce you to some of the different areas of biomedical science.

You’ll meet biomedical scientists and hear first-hand about their work, how they got into the profession and what their jobs are really like.

We’ll also explore:

  • What biomedical scientists do and their role in patient care
  • The different areas of biomedical science you could work in
  • The skills and interests that could make biomedical science a good career for you
  • Routes into the profession, including university degrees and apprenticeships
