Running as part of National Pathology Week (NPW) 2026, the event celebrates the NPW 2026 theme, 'Welcome to the Lab' by inviting anyone with an interest in medicine or science to join expert speakers for an insight into genomic testing and the careers of the pathologists and scientists working in this rapidly evolving field.
This free webinar explores genomic testing and careers in the specialty.
Genomic testing is an important part of modern healthcare, helping healthcare professionals understand genetic information and use it to support patient care. The field brings together pathologists, scientists and other healthcare professionals working across clinical practice, research and laboratory science.
Designed for undergraduates, foundation doctors and trainee scientists, the webinar will explore what genomic testing involves, its contribution to patient care and healthcare, and what it is like to work in the field.
The speakers will explain what genomic testing involves and why it is important to healthcare. They’ll also share their personal career journeys, including their education and training, research and clinical practice, as well as insights into their day-to-day work.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear advice from pathologists and scientists working in the field and ask questions about careers in genomic testing. This online event is free, but registration is essential. Book your place via the booking button to the right.
