Overview

The Royal College of Pathologists is providing an educational update regarding credentialing, Shape of Training, changes to the medical curricula and state of the arts developments.  It will be held on Monday, 4 November 2019 from 10am to 4pm.

This meeting is relevant to all those involved in the delivery of pathology training – including trainers and assessors in the following specialties: 

  • Chemical Pathology/Metabolic Medicine
  • Histopathology/Neuropathology/Forensic Pathology/Paediatrics and Perinatal Pathology
  • Haematology
  • Immunology
  • Medical Microbiology/Medical Virology/Infectious Diseases

It is also relevant to senior trainees preparing to become consultants in the above specialties.

The day will include keynote talks from the GMC and the UK Shape of Training Steering Group. There will be specialty breakout sessions with a view to discuss and understand the arrangements for the new curricula. There will also be opportunities to share experiences and ask questions.

Registration Fees

A nominal fee of £20 per delegate is being charged. This will be refunded to delegates via Amazon vouchers a few days after attending the full event. It will also be refunded to non-attendees if notification for non-attendance is sent via email to the meeting organiser at least 5 working days in advance of the event.

(Please note there is a commentary on the booking form referring to an administrative charge of £20 for cancellations – please ignore it.  This is because we cannot change the commentary on the booking form for this event as all other conference bookings will be globally affected).

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Delegates can claim a maximum of 5 CPD credits in the professional category for full attendance at this meeting.  CPD certificates will be provided.  Participation in this event will provide supporting evidence towards meeting the GMC standards for ongoing Trainer recognition.
