The RCPath research publishing gateway provides an online research forum for those interested in the study of the pathology of human and animal diseases.

The College’s Gateway Advisory Group have recently increased the subsidy for applications to cover 100% of the article processing charge for articles that:

  • are under 2500 words
  • have a lead author (first or last author) who is a Fellow or is a medical, dental or clinical scientist pathology trainee
  • have at least one co-author who is a Fellow of RCPath
  • do not qualify for any discount or waiver already offered by F1000 Research.

The gateway is hosted by F1000Research and gives our members the opportunity to rapidly publish original research, case reports and validation studies of laboratory methods and antibodies. Subject to satisfactory peer review by experts, articles will be approved for inclusion on Pubmed and other bibliographic databases. Members can also submit posters, slides, and documents including clinical audits.

The gateway – which has been funded by the College as a pilot up until Autumn 2019 – provides an exciting opportunity for both experienced researchers and trainees to build an online community where ideas can circulate rapidly and be developed with other pathologists.
