The College works to support and promote the interests of pathologists, patients and students through developing links with UK parliaments and assemblies. The College provides information and advice on pathology to politicians, civil servants, opinion formers and decision makers.

President tells MPs of member concerns

College President, Dr Suzy Lishman, has set out members’ concerns about morale and NHS funding to the Labour party’s shadow health team.


  • Junior doctors

    Although we are not a trade union we share junior doctors' unhappiness at the proposed new contract and we co-signed a letter.

  • Medical examiners

    A national network of medical examiners was recommended by the Shipman, Mid-Staffordshire and Morecambe Bay public inquiries and the College has long campaigned for their implementation. In March 2016 the Secretary of State announced a consultation for their introduction from April 2018.
