Pathology solutions
On Tuesday 4 November 2025, ‘Pathology Solutions’ will take centre stage at the House of Commons, highlighting the vital role pathology plays in transforming healthcare. Sponsored by Dr Simon Opher MP, the reception will provide a unique opportunity to explore how pathology services are driving innovation across the health system - essential for patients and central to the successful delivery of the NHS 10-year plan.
Guests will have the chance to engage with leading experts in disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment, including specialists in cancer, diabetes, inherited conditions and sepsis, through interactive exhibits and demonstrations. Senior figures from industry, research, health charities, professional bodies and think tanks will also be in attendance, making this a unique opportunity to connect, collaborate and champion the vital role of pathology in modern healthcare.
“Pathology services underpin healthcare from cradle to grave and will be central to delivering the 3 shifts in the NHS 10 Year Health Plan for England. Pathologists and scientists play a vital role across all stages of patient care, including disease prevention and screening, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring.”
Dr Bernie Croal, RCPath President 2023–2026
Prominent figures in pathology will share real-world examples of pathology solutions and innovations, highlighting their contribution to the ‘three shifts’ in the NHS 10-year plan – disease prevention, better use of technology, and community-based testing and treatment. The event will also call attention to the need for continued investment in the pathology workforce, IT infrastructure and pathology estates.
