Clinical effectiveness

The Clinical Effectiveness Team supports pathology laboratories to deliver the ‘right test, right time, every time’ for patients. To achieve this, we:

  • provide a national framework of standards through which pathology laboratories can demonstrate the clinical effectiveness of their services
  • provide high quality, evidence-based and NICE-accredited guidance
  • support professional development to deliver and reward high quality audit and service improvement activities
  • are developing a portfolio of relevant key performance/assurance indicators

  • Quality improvement

The College uses a range of systematic activities to analyse performance in a systematic effort to improve quality.

  • Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
