Despite the easing of lockdown, we're all still spending lots of time at home so why not check out our updated activity resource hub?

At the start of the COVID-19 lockdown we put together a selection of our favourite pathology-related activity resources for learning and enjoyment. As schools are out for summer, we have updated the collection of activity ideas and videos so more of the pathology specialties can be explored.

In addition to our  'What is a pathologist?' animation, you'll now find our animation about herd immunity on the hub, as well as the accompanying ‘Give it a shot’ activities that explore vaccination. Interest in pathology, and particularly virology, has increased hugely since the COVID-19 pandemic began – the herd immunity animation has now received over 99,000 views. Visits to our careers pages have also risen during the pandemic – our virologist page alone has received over 22,000 views between March and July 2020; this compares with 1,590 views of this page in the same period in 2019.

We’ve also featured our veterinary pathology activities in the hub, which include an activity about dog genetics, and an interview with veterinary pathologist, Alex Civello.

Lots of the at-home activities are easy to try out at home and a number of them, like the ‘My-croscope’ mobile phone activity, have handy videos that guide you through them.

We will be adding to our collection of activity resources for this year’s National Pathology Week over the coming months so keep an eye on our social media channels Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

We’re also sharing as much of our careers content as possible on social media to tap into, and continue to raise awareness of, the vital work of pathologists, and how the next generation can pursue a career in one of our 17 specialties. Please share our posts that we've tagged with #CareerPath to help spread the word even further.

And whatever your age there will be something to enjoy on our home activity hub so check it out and please pass on the link to others who might enjoy it.
