An engaging day designed to help doctors prepare for pathology sub-specialty applications through workshops and interactive presentations, including advice on how to be a competitive candidate for training and interview tips and tricks!
The day will be a mixture of interactive workstations from many pathology subspecialties - from combined infection training, forensic pathology, neuropathology to microbiology and general histopathology and everything in between! We will have oral and poster presentations, with prizes available for 1st to 3rd place. There is also an interactive presentation on how to be successful in applying for your chosen subspecialty as well as a Q&A at the end of the day, which is your chance to talk to trainees who have obtained a training number in their preferred region.
You will learn about each pathology subspecialty, in particular the journey that specimens have undertaken, and how trainees learn and progress throughout training. Presenters will take delegates through their daily routines, how they manage their work/life/exam balance, and give delegates a real insight into training in that subspecialty. There are several presentations on how to be successful in applying and interviewing for pathology subspecialties, and how to maximise and organise your portfolio for application. There is also a fantastic opportunity to present a poster or oral presentation, with prizes for the top 3 candidates.
