Ghana video lecture series

In collaboration with the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, and in conjunction with the Tropical Health Education Trust (THET) Ghana Workforce Health Partnership, the Royal College of Pathologists launches a second series of video lectures. 25 new titles will complete the collection of learning material in a phased release over the summer. 14 new lectures are now freely available from this page to view on-demand.

This expands on the 24 video lectures in series 1 lauched in May 2022. Content across both series cover topics selected by the Ghana Faculty of Laboratory Medicine, and span chemical pathology, haematology, histopathology (anatomical pathology), and microbiology with the 2 lectures on research coming soon.

The project is funded through the Building the Future International Workforce Programme (Ghana) by the UK Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) for the benefit of the UK and partner country health sectors.

The College of Physicians and Surgeons' Laboratory Medicine curricula were recently revised. These virtual resources aspire to support the curricula by strengthening their implementation and by offering opportunities for the residents' continued professional development.

The aim is that the learning will translate into better practice, patient management, and improved outcomes, helping to tackle some of the challenges at the forefront of pathology not only in Ghana, but worldwide.

The Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons runs 2 distinct programmes that lead to membership and then fellowship of their College.
