Examination applications

Applications for the Autumn 2026 examinationare now closed. Late applications will not be accepted. 

Part 1 candidates who are resitting following the Autumn 2025 session and have derogated attempts remaining should email [email protected] by the closing deadline to confirm their entry. Candidates who have used their derogated attempt in Spring 2026 should apply and pay online as normal.

Candidates who require reasonable adjustments to the examinations must complete the reasonable adjustments form (form available to download by scrolling down this page in the side column) and return it to [email protected] with appropriate supporting evidence once their application is complete and no later than 2 weeks after the closing deadline for the session (Friday 17 July). Applications received after this time may not be able to be accommodated. 

Candidates for the Combined Infection Certificate Examination, Part 1 examination in Infection or Part 1 examination in Medical Microbiology & Virology should refer to this document to ensure they apply for the correct examination:

 

Candidates for Molecular Pathology and Reproductive Science Part 2 must apply for both the oral and practical if it is their first sitting or are required to re-sit both exams. Candidates for Molecular Pathology Part 2 who are re-sitting from Autumn 2025 should refer to their most recent email regarding the next steps for their application.

Candidates for the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Certificate Examination (ACICE) and Part 1 Examination in Allergy and Clinical Immunology should apply as follows:

  • Medical trainees on the ACI pathway should apply for the ACICE
  • Medical trainees on the ACLI pathway should apply for the Part 1
  • Clinical Scientists should apply for the Part 1

Candidates for Histopathology Part 2 will be notified of available overseas centres after the closing deadline.

Please note: the name on your application must match your name as it appears on your passport or other official identification document which you will be required to bring to your exam. Please check the spelling and presentation of your name carefully before submitting your application.
